Fishbowl # 3

1. Why does Richard Parker stay calm for so long and not start killing the other animals? Do you think there is a method behind this?
2. "How true it is that necessity is the mother of invention, how very true."
Based on this quote, do you think Pi will find a way to survive by invention out of need?
3. Are animals on some level like humans? In a situation like this one, are the animals somewhat equivilant to Pi?
4. Why do you think Pi loses hope so early on considering his strong belief in religion and God?
5. Is it possible that Pi can lose his faith/hope after losing his family and witnessing everything that happens on the boat?
